The Houston Texans' star quarterback, C.J. Stroud, is in the concussion protocol after a hard hit during Sunday's game. Coach DeMeco Ryans reported that Stroud is 'feeling a little bit better', but the team is taking no chances. The incident occurred when Denver Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine lunged into Stroud's chest, causing his head to hit the ground. Backup quarterback Davis Mills stepped in and led the offense to 12 points, but the Texans ultimately lost the game. While Mills could start if Stroud is unable to clear the protocol, Coach Ryans is not placing any massive expectations on the backup. 'Just expect him to go out and do his best,' Ryans said. The Texans are currently in an uphill battle in the AFC South, facing the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10. Despite their struggles, Stroud's QBR (64.8) ranks 12th, which is the highest it's ever been with the Texans. He has also thrown for 11 touchdowns and 1,702 yards. But here's where it gets controversial... Some fans and analysts are questioning whether the Texans should have done more to protect Stroud from head injuries. And this is the part most people miss... While the team is taking the right precautions, there are still concerns about the long-term health of their star quarterback. What do you think? Should the Texans have done more to prevent this injury? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
